Phoenix Restaurants That You Need to Try
Each time I visit Phoenix, I make sure to try a new restaurant. Fortunately, that is easy to do with all of the eateries that the city has to offer. It also helps that I have friends and family in Phoenix that have suggestions of places to try. Whether you live in Phoenix or plan to visit, make sure to add these restaurants to your list of places to eat.
Central Phoenix
If you’re in the mood for pizza, this is the spot for you. Base Pizzeria is owned by Australian natives and has an extensive menu of pizza offerings. The majority of the menu items consist of certified organic ingredients. A friend suggested we try the Noble Bread as one of the appetizers. The locally made bread, paired with the flavorful Base Chilli infused organic olive oil was the perfect combination. The salads were full of color and flavor. Each of the pizzas I tried, were divine. I should let you know the beer and wine offerings go quite well with the dishes, too. When you try out this restaurant, you will be pleased with what you order. Many people must be in agreement with me, in 2016 Base Pizzeria was awarded the best gourmet pizza in Phoenix by the Phoenix New Times. Hope you stop by and try Base Pizzeria!
A part of me absolutely loves dive bars and restaurants. They may look one way on the exterior, but I’m willing to give those spots a try. Those restaurants usually become favorites. This was just the case when I tried, Harvey’s Wineburger. Harvey’s Wineburger definitely exceeded my expectations. I had the Wineburger and fries and it is now my favorite place to grab a burger, while in Phoenix. Between the atmosphere and delicious food, I know that I’ll return. The music was great, and the pub had an overall laid back feeling. This is the perfect spot for grabbing a good meal with very reasonable prices. On a busy evening, you should expect a wait for a seat. The time waiting for a table is well worth it. Lucky for you, they are open until 2 AM.
Downtown Phoenix
I’m always up for eating Mexican food. Each city has their own flair and flavor when it comes to this cuisine. I must say, I like the traditional restaurants as well as those with a fresh, modern take on dishes. Taco Chello made the list of Mexican spots that I had to visit. After walking around in the Roosevelt Row Art District, I was hungry and knew that I was surrounded by several good restaurants. As soon as I walked up to the door, I knew it was my kind of place. Taco Chello had the windows and doors open, as well as a welcoming vibe. It’s a casual place with fantastic food. I ordered the fish and vegetarian tacos. I must say the fish taco, is the best I have ever had. The fresh ingredients and street style tacos were heavenly! The prices were very reasonable and I think you’ll like the decor as much as I do. You’ll be happy you stopped at Taco Chello. The service was terrific and I can’t wait to return!
I encourage you to change up where you eat with a mix of your favorite spots along with a new restaurant every now and then. You’ll be surprised with what you discover.
Have you been to any of the spots that I’ve mentioned? What’s your favorite place to eat in Phoenix?
