Great Eats in D.C.

A great way to explore a city is by trying out the food in the area. During my recent trip to Washington D.C. I went to restaurants that you’ll want to visit during your next trip to the nation’s capital. I’m sharing my top 4 favorites stops on from my recent stay in the city.

When I select places to try, I look for a restaurant that is not have where I live. Something that offers a little twist and possibly there’s a little hype about the spot.

One of the most unique locations to eat happens to be at The Line DC. Restaurants and a hotel have been recreated in an old church. It offers 3 options to eating. Brother’s and Sisters at the Line is one not to miss. A few of my favorite dishes on the menu were the broccolini, the Cavatelli veggie bolognese, and the flat iron steak. The french fries are pretty tasty, too.

The Red Hen is a cozy spot located in the historic Bloomingdale neighborhood. This Italian-influenced American restaurant is definitely worth visiting. The menu options include pastas, (my favorite) to fish, chicken and even ribs. There is surely something for everyone. The area Hen offers seating at the bar or at dining tables. The service is great and the atmosphere is on point. I recommend ordering the Mezzi Rigatoni, Tomato, Fennel Sausage Ragu, Pecorino Romano. It was a delicious meal!

Capital Burger is known for their luxury burgers and spiked shakes. This restaurant is great for all of the burgers lovers out there! The menu offers delicious burgers with creative toppings that are sure to satisfy your tastebuds. Capital Burger also offers a great happy hour menu that offers sliders for a deal. Make sure to try the complimentary pickles. They are full of flavor! I recommend the sliders; one hamburger and the other fried chicken sandwich with a side of fries.

Pisco y Nazcar is a Peruvian restaurant that offers both indoor and outdoor dining. If the weather is nice, I recommend enjoying s meal outside. Traditional meals as well as those with a modern twist are offered at Pisco y Nazcar . I ordered the arroz con pollo and the serving size was large. I love meals with beans and rice! This was a great meal to have for my first Peruvian meal.

Each of theses restaurants add flair and flavor to the city. Some of my favorite restaurants from previous trips include Founding Farmers and Oyamel Cocina Mexicana. Try these restaurants out during your next visit to get a true taste of the city!
