Arizona in February

While the start of the month has brought a lot of rain to the desert, it looks like sunshine is in our future. Check out fun things to do throughout the remaining days of February.

2/13: The Yuma County Historical Society is hosting a Garden talk at 9 am in the Sanguinetti Gardens. The presentation will be from Kaitlin Schnabel, YFO Land Law Examiner with the Bureau of Land Management. Schnabel will be presenting the journey of Juan Bautista de Anza who was among other settlers that traveled from San Miguel de Horcasitas, Mexico to San Francisco, California. 2/14: Celebrate Arizona’s 112th birthday! Arizona joined the Union on February 14, 1912.

2/15: Visit the 2nd Best Haunted Destination in the U.S., the Yuma Territorial Prison, after dark from 6-8 pm. This will give you a unique experience to visit the museum once the sun goes down. Tickets: $15 adults, $10 ages 7-13, children under 6 years free. Click to purchase your tickets.

2/16 - 2/19: Are you a cocktail enthusiast? Check out the Arizona Cocktail Weekend! Tickets are available to attend the events that are held at various locations and learn more about the local craft cocktail scene. Attendees must be 21+ older.

2/17: The University of Arizona and Arizona State University rivalry continues this month when the schools match up in two basketball games. The teams play in Tucson on February 17th and on February 28th in Phoenix. Have fun cheering on your team!

2/17 - 2/25: The 99th Tucson Rodeo kicks off on February 17th. The Tucson Rodeo features seven professional rodeo events including bareback riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, team roping, bull riding and women’s barrel racing. See the events in person!

2/24:

  • The Tucson Craft Beer Crawl is scheduled from 1 - 5 pm. Tickets are $50 per person and includes a commemorative tasing glass + 30 (2 oz) drink tickets that can be redeemed at 10 locations. Participants can choose between two routes the IPA or Sour Trail.

All month long - Arizona Snowbowl has received 32 inches of snow in 72 hours and now the entire mountain is open. Get those lift tickets and get those runs in while enjoying that powder!
