September - A 30 Day Challenge

September is just a few days away, which means we have an opportunity to hit the refresh button. New months are fresh beginnings and I like to set a few goals each month. In the past I have picked up a new skill, took an online course, or have tested how many nights we could cook dinner. They have been simple, but fun challenges.

For the month of September I am challenging myself to incorporate 30 minutes or more of exercise into my daily routine for 30 days. I’d love for you to join me this September with this challenge! You may already have exercise as part of your daily lifestyle and that is FABULOUS! You can still join me in this challenge. You might not have exercise built into your lifestyle and I’d love for you to join me too. To be honest, I don’t exercise on a regular basis. Yes, I know I am admitting that and it’s 2020, but hey there is still time. So I figure why not now and fingers crossed this is something that I will stick to longer than 30 days.

We’ve all heard how powerful a 30 day challenge can be, if you need a little reminder, listen to this short TED Talk by Matt Cutts. It’s an oldie, but gets to the point.

Hold Yourself Accountable

I am really good at finding reasons why I don’t have time to exercise, but this month those reasons will have to be put to the side. I have made a calendar for you to download. Save the calendar to your phone or print it out. Check off each day that you exercised for at least 30 minutes.

To add a little fun tag me in your workouts on social media this month and you’ll be entered to win a little something from my shop! Every time you tag me, gives you an entry into the giveaway.

A Few Tips

  • Look over your daily schedule and see when the best time is to fit in 30 minutes of exercise. Is it early in the morning, lunch time, evenings or another time in the day?

  • Set yourself up for success! What is one thing that may get in your way now from hitting this goal? Sometimes I stay up too late and it’s hard for me to get up earlier then I need to in order to exercise. For the month of September, I’m going to do my best to go to bed by 9:30 PM during the week, so that I can be up by 5:15 AM to exercise.

  • Set those exercise clothes out, so you’re ready to go! Whether you’ll squeeze in an exercise during your lunch or waking up early, get your clothes and shoes ready to go, so you are not scrambling at the last minute to find what you need to get your workout started.

  • Change up your workouts - Select a few exercises or equipment that you’ll use throughout the month to add a variety to your exercise routine. Walks around my neighborhood will be apart of my routine along with my favorite resources that are listed below.

    • Mindbody - This app allows you to take classes from local studios or those far away. Check out the app and site for cost, schedules and exercise options.

    • Nike Training Club App - It’s free! This app links to your iPhone and/or iWatch and has great videos that guide you through the workouts. There is just about any kind of workout you could dream of and you don’t need equipment for several of the workouts.

    • Nike Run Club App - Another great app by Nike that is great for those that are runners.

    • Pinterest - Check out my fitness board on Pinterest. The board has simple workouts that you can do in the comfort of your own home.

If you are looking for an accountability partner, email or send me a DM and we will motivate each other throughout this 30 day challenge!
