Episode #27 - A Little Goal Setting Never Hurt

I often set financial goals for travel.

I often set financial goals for travel.

With the summer season wrapping up, it’s time for many of us to get back to those routines. You may be a person that loves routine and structure, or you may fight it every step of the way. Either way, listen in to hear about a few tips and tricks for getting the most out of the goals that you set.

Setting goals are great, but how are you going to follow through and achieve them? I have created a FREE goal tracker template that you can use to help get you on your way to meeting those goals.

Reminders for Setting Goals

  1. Jot down your goals. Some may overlap and can go into a category together.

  2. Narrow down your goals so that you can truly focus on what is the most important. Where would you like to start?

  3. What are your action steps to help you achieve your goals? Think about how you will track your progress and keep yourself accountable? Consider a reasonable timeframe.

  4. What support do you need to make your goals achievable?

  5. Last but not least, is there a reward you will have for meeting that goal? Or is that needed for you? Depending on the goal, sometimes I like to make a fun purchase, it gives me a little something more to look forward to. Your reward doesn’t have to be physical. It could simply be that you are setting time aside for you on a daily basis.

The free template I created, allows you to break down your goal into achievable action items. Click here to download the goal tracker template.

Along with using my goal setting template, I highly recommend reading or listening to the audio version of Atomic Habits by James Clear. The author pulls you in with his own story of how creating healthy habits changed his life. The book goes into how we make habits and how to break those habits that we aren’t too thrilled about. Best of all you’ll be able to take away how to improve your every day life.
