Ellie Evans, a senior in high school, continues to move mountains whether it be in the classroom, in competitions or by volunteering. The current Miss Desert Rose’s Outstanding Teen 2022 has made an impact on the Yuma Community.
All About Ellie
Ellie is a titleholder in the Miss America's Outstanding Teen program. She will be competing at Miss Arizona in June for the job of Miss Arizona's Outstanding Teen. This will be her 4th year competing and it is her final opportunity to compete in this division. Her current title is Miss Desert Rose’s Outstanding Teen 2022, and previously held titles of Miss Yuma County’s Outstanding Teen 2020 (but held the title for 2 years due to Covid) and Miss Parker's Outstanding Teen 2019.
Motivated to Make an Impact
Miss Desert Rose’s Outstanding Teen 2022
Ellie’s social impact initiative is "Steps Toward Hope; Championing the Fight Against Cancer." Part of this initiative is working with Relay For Life of Yuma County. She first attended this event when she was 10 years old after losing her best friend Maureen Howe. Since then she has been a participant, a team captain and currently is on the event leadership committee in Yuma.
Mark your calendars for the Yuma County Relay For Life event, which will be held on April 30th at the Desert Sun Stadium. Whether or not you live in Yuma, you can still get involved in other Relay for Life events throughout the United States and you can show support to Ellie’s Really for Life team.
