Save the Date - August

Arizona at Sunset

A new month means it’s time to plan for some fun! August in the desert calls for monsoons, kids returning to school and to getting creative with ways to stay cool. The heat is definitely hanging around for awhile, but there is a lot of activities and events to check out in Arizona. I suggest mixing up outdoor activities with some air conditioned events!

Concerts

  • 8/5 - Young the Giant with Milky Chance - The bands will be performing at the Arizona Financial Theatre, located in downtown Phoenix. Click here to purchase tickets.

  • 8/17 - Rebelution: Good Vibes Summer Tour will be making a stop in Phoenix. In addition to Rebellion, Iration, The Expendables, Passafire and DJ Mackle will be hitting the stage. Tickets are still available for the event.

  • 8/30 - Weezer is also scheduled to make their way to Phoenix at the end of the month. Sing along to all of your favorite songs from the 90s along with their new music.

Markets

  • Downtown PHX Farmers Market is open on Saturdays from 7:30 am - 11:30 am. During the month of August it is possible for the market to close by 10:30 am because of the warm temperatures. This market is open year round, rain or shine.

  • The Flagstaff Community Farmers Market is held on Sundays through October. The market features food from regional growers. The market is free to enter and is open from 8 am - 12 pm.

Sporting Events

  • Catch a pre-season Arizona Cardinals game in Glendale, Arizona. Home games will be held on 8/11 against the Broncos and on 8/19 against the Chiefs.

  • Play ball! Take in a baseball game or two at Chase Stadium. The Diamondbacks will host the Dodgers (8/8 - 8/9) and the Padres (811-8/13) this month among a few other teams.

  • Watch the Phoenix Rising FC team play the Las Vegas Lights on Saturday, August 26th.

Leave a comment and let me know what you are looking forward to doing this month!
