Save the Date - January

It’s a new year, with a new feature from Life in the Desert! Plan on a monthly list of activities and events that you can attend throughout the month in Arizona.

Check out what is happening in Arizona during the month of January!

Phoenix

  • 1/20-1/22 - Carefree Fine Art & Wine Festival: Celebrate the 30th year of this annual winter event! Over 150 artisans will be in attendance. Admission is $5. Pay $15 for a wine tasting ticket and souvenir glass. Hours are 10 am - 5 pm.

  • 1/21-1/29 - Barrett-Jackson Auction: This automotive event of year will be held at Westworld in Scottsdale. Order tickets in advance to save money. Saturday, January 23rd is Family Day. Children 12 and under are free, when accompanied by a paying adult.

Tucson

  • Broadway in Tucson will feature Annie. The play runs January 3rd-8th at Centennial Hall, one of my favorite places to watch off Broadway plays. Click here for ticket information.

  • 1/28-2/12 - Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Showcase: If you haven’t yet attended this show, it well worth visiting. This is a world-renowned event that draws 65,000 attendees from around the world. You can view precious gems as well as purchase items that catch your eye. Check out all of the event details here.

Yuma

  • 1/6 - First Friday: Support local restaurants and shops downtown.

  • 1/7 - Yuma Medjool Date Festival: This event will be held on Main St. from 10 am - 6 pm. Stop by to sample dates from various vendors. No fee to attend.

  • 1/14-1/15 - Art in the Park: Head to Gateway Park to view art, listen to live music, lawn games and food vendors. The event will be held from 10 am - 5 pm with an entrance fee of $1 per person.

  • 1/27 - Adult Painting Party: Let your creative juices flow at the upcoming Jackson Polluck art class. Register for this fun evening event here. Cost is $30 per participant. A cash bar will be available and all art supplies are included.
