Shop Small This Holiday Season

The gifting season is soon approaching and you may have heard that it’s best to shop early this year to make sure you get the gifts that you are looking for.

I encourage you to shop small, shop local during this holiday season. There are numerous small businesses near you that would love to have your business. Many businesses have struggled in one way or another because of the impacts of the pandemic and now is your time to help them out.

Get started with your holiday shopping by following these tips:

  • Create/review your holiday gift budget

  • Jot down gift ideas for those on your list

  • Shop at small businesses to check off those items on your list

Gift cards to local businesses are always a great idea for those that might be challenging to shop for.

Follow the small businesses that you like on social media which will allow you to stay up to date with any sales and business hours for the season. Take note of special shopping opportunities that may include additional discounts, such as First Friday and Shop Small Saturday.

If you haven’t yet attended First Friday in your area, I highly suggest that you do! Mark your calendar for the 1st Friday of each month and support the businesses. Many shops have extended hours and some offer special discounts.

Gifting experiences and shopping small are on the top of my list this year. I look forward to supporting shops near and far. If you have favorite small businesses that you would like to support, place your orders early. I think we can all guarantee shipping delays, so the earlier the better with placing your order.

Just think of the impact you can make by supporting small businesses this holiday season! I’d love for your to leave a comment below with the name of your favorite small business.
